AARO 3rd Thursday - 17th May
Dear AARO Members,
Space is booked tomorrow evening from 6pm in Restaurace Sv. Ignace, Jecna 5, Prague 2.
Since the weather forecast is not too rosy, I have booked the tables beside the bar, as per last month.
3rd Thursday is an informal event, for members and their guests. We usually have at least two AARO Board members present, so it's a good opportunity to raise group issues and discuss ideas for events. Alternatively, just come for a drink, a bite to eat and / or an hour or two of congenial social time. All are welcome.
Sv. Ignace is a few steps down the hill from the Stepanska tram stop (4,6,10,16,22,23) on the downtown side, or a short walk up from Karlovo namesti metro (yellow / B Line).
NOTE: Please get your rsvps in for the movie next week, guests are welcome - either prospective AARO members or colleagues and friends who'd enjoy the event. Please note, the pre-movie social is a cash bar.

AARO Summer Picnic - Saturday June 9th
Dear AARO Members,
This year's summer picnic will take place on Saturday June 9th from noon to 5pm.
Once again, our hosts for this always-popular annual event will be AARO President Bill Harter and his wife Hana, at their wonderful house high on the hill above Smichov in Prague 5. Those who attended last year will recall what a glorious day we all had, soaking up the sun, eating, drinking, chatting and enjoying the spectacular views over the city.
Members with children are welcome to bring them along. You are also welcome to invite guests, though please note that a cover charge of 500 czk will be politely requested for all non-AARO Members.
Please rsvp no later than Sunday May 27th. Space is limited, so places on a strict first come, first served basis.

With its tongue planted firmly in its cheek, HOT FUZZ tells the story of London supercop Nicholas Angel (Simon Clegg - Shaun of the Dead) who is so good at his job, he makes his colleagues look bad. The result? He gets transferred to the sleepy English village of Sandford, where nothing ever happens. Or so it seems. Angel becomes convinced that beneath Sandford's peaceful exterior seethes a veritable underworld of crime and corruption. With the inept assistance of his partner, Danny Butterman (Nick Frost - Shaun of the Dead, Kinky Boots), he starts to name names, and dispense the justice - big city style...
HOT FUZZ reteams Clegg and director Edgar Wright, creators of hit zombie comedy Shaun of the Dead, in a fast-paced comedy caper, that pokes fun at the British, using to great effect the cliches of the Hollywood action genre. Clegg's regular co-star and best friend, Nick Frost also weighs in as his bumbling sidekick, together with a stellar supporting cast that includes Oscar-winner Jim Broadbent (Moulin Rouge, Gangs of New York, Bridget Jones), Bill Nighy (Pirates of the Caribbean, Love Actually, The Constant Gardener) and Timothy Dalton (James Bond, Scarlett).

This event is open to AARO Members and their guests. Please rsvp to this address together with the names of your guests, no later than Friday May 18th. The bar is open before and after the movie, we have reserved the bar area from 7pm for members and guests to enjoy.

Kino Atlas faces the highway, a short walk from Florenc metro in the direction of the Hilton.
