AARO Thanksgiving - 25th November - RSVPs
Dear AARO Members,
Today is the official cut-off for Thanksgiving rsvps, so please do take a look at your plans for the holiday.
A great evening is shaping up for the Hard Rock Café, we held 3rd Thursday there last week and it went down very well - staff are friendly and professional, the food is fabulous, the atmosphere is relaxed, warm and not too noisy.
The VIP 2nd floor feels very private, but looks down onto the main cafe space via the stunning atrium in the center, which features a specially made chandelier in the shape of a guitar.
Please do join us for the evening, it's one of the main events of the year where the value of your annual dues is returned to you, so come and claim what's yours! Once again, there is no limit to the number of guests you may invite, you can have a separate table for your party and combine your own event with group - the choice is yours.
Hope to see you on the 25th for Thanksgiving in style!

AARO 3rd Thursday - October 21st
Dear AARO Members,
Once again, I must apologize for the short notice, but if you don't have plans, 3rd Thursday is tomorrow, Thursday 21st October. For those of you who have not sampled the delights of the Hard Rock Café, why not come and join us there from 6pm and check out where we will be holding this year's Thanksgiving event?
I will ask the staff at the door to let you know where we are seated, so just ask for AARO - I will request non-smoking seating within the café.
As regards Thanksgiving, we must respond to the venue by next Monday 25th, so please do give some thought to your plans for the holiday, see if you can get a party together and make the most of the event. Remember, AARO Members pay nothing for the evening's dinner, guests are welcome at 650 CZK a head. Drinks are not included.
Hope to see you,

AARO Thanksgiving Feast - Hard Rock Cafe - 25th November
Dear AARO Members,
For this year's Thanksgiving Feast on the evening of Thursday 25th November from 8pm, we offer you the exclusive 2nd floor VIP area of the Hard Rock Café, Prague, located on Male namesti, a (rolling) stone's throw from Old Town Square. The VIP area surrounds the central atrium in this beautiful building (for more than 150 years the home of the V.J. Rott Hardware Store) with a view out over the main bar area and the stage below.
The evening's dining will feature a three-course, traditional Thanksgiving menu, comprising corn chowder, followed by a turkey main course served with sausage stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables, rounded off with a dessert of pumpkin pie or apple cobbler served with ice cream.
The evening's dinner is free to paid-up AARO Members (and their families for those with family membership). Guests will be politely requested to contribute 650 CZK per person, but there is no limit to the number of guests you may invite. Parties of 6 or more may have their own table seating within the main VIP area. Please note that drinks are currently not included so Members and their guests will be liable for all beverages they consume.
Please help to make this year's Thanksgiving an event to remember, put the word around and get a party together. If you're planning to spend Thanksgiving with friends, why not combine the two, have your own table in the VIP area and share your evening with AARO.
In order to secure the best possible package from the Hard Rock management, please rsvp to this e-mail as soon as you can, in any case not later than Monday October 25th, thank you.

The State Department alerts U.S. citizens to the potential for terrorist attacks in Europe. Current information suggests that al-Qa'ida and affiliated organizations continue to plan terrorist attacks. European governments have taken action to guard against a terrorist attack and some have spoken publicly about the heightened threat conditions.
Terrorists may elect to use a variety of means and weapons and target both official and private interests. U.S. citizens are reminded of the potential for terrorists to attack public transportation systems and other tourist infrastructure. Terrorists have targeted and attacked subway and rail systems, as well as aviation and maritime services. U.S. citizens should take every precaution to be aware of their surroundings and to adopt appropriate safety measures to protect themselves when traveling.
We continue to work closely with our European allies on the threat from international terrorism, including al-Qa'ida. Information is routinely shared between the U.S. and our key partners in order to disrupt terrorist plotting, identify and take action against potential operatives, and strengthen our defenses against potential threats.
We recommend U.S. citizens register their travel plans with the Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy through the State Department's travel registration website. Travelers may obtain up-to-date information on security conditions by calling 1-888-407-4747 toll-free in the U.S. and Canada, or on a regular toll line at 1-202-501-4444 from elsewhere in the world.
For information on general crime and security issues, U.S. citizens should also consult the Department of State's Country-Specific Information as well as the Worldwide Caution, which can be found on the Bureau of Consular Affairs website. For further information on safety tips while traveling abroad, U.S. citizens should also consult the following website: http://travel.state.gov/travel/tips/tips_1232.html
