Woody Allen's "Melinda & Melinda"
A conversation in a Manhattan restaurant spawns the parallel tales of two Melindas (both played by Radha Mitchell), one tragic the other comic. With the suggestion that the same story can be either, it's just a question of how you look at it, the tragic and the comic plotlines interweave, intersect and overlap, giving us what has been called Allen's most mature work for some time. While Woody himself does not appear, his presence is felt throughout, with crackling dialogue, sharp humour and perhaps a new take on the downbeat persona he has made his own, with the character this time interpreted by Will Ferrell.
