U.S. TAXPAYER ASSISTANCE PROGRAM 2005


As a special service to U.S. taxpayers in the Czech Republic, a representative of the United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will be available in Prague during the dates and times shown below to answer individuals’ questions relating to tax returns. Please note that the tax assistor cannot fill out tax returns for filers, but will be happy to answer questions. These are the only dates the IRS representative will be available in the Czech Republic.

NOTE
: Assistance will be offered on a firstcome firstserved basis. No appointments can be made. Please do not call the Embassy for an appointment.

IRS TAX FORMS have not yet arrived at the American Services Section of the U.S. Embassy in Prague. IRS forms are also available on the Internet:
http://www.irs.gov. Please note that the Embassy does not have state tax forms, but many of these are available on the websites of the individual state governments.

OTHER ASSISTANCE: A taxpayer telephone service is also available MondayFriday from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. at the American Embassy, IRS, Berlin, Germany, Tel: [0049] (30) 8305 1140. Fax: [0049] (30) 8305 1145.

The IRS Office in the U.S. that handles most overseas filers (Philadelphia) can be reached at the following telephone number: [001] (215) 516-2000. Their hours are 12 o’clock noon Central European time until 5 following morning. You can also fax your questions to them at (001) 215 516 2555.
