AARO Prague - Current Events

Dear American Citizen,

To commemorate Overseas Citizens Voting Week (June 28^th-July 7^th), the U.S. Embassy's Consular Section is hosting an Overseas Citizens Garden Event on June 30th from 5 to 7 pm in the Embassy's First Garden. All American citizens, especially those resident long-term in the Czech Republic, are encouraged to attend. The open house will feature information on absentee voting procedures, consular services offered to American citizens in the Czech Republic (including passport, notary, and immigration services), as well as updates on federal benefits.

The Embassy has invited the American Association of Residents Overseas, as well as representatives from Democrats and Republicans Abroad, to talk about voting and the challenges of living overseas. The Ambassador will be on hand to welcome attendees and meet members of the American community living and working in the Czech Republic. The event will also provide members of the American community in Prague the opportunity to see the U.S. Embassy's impressive gardens and Glorietta, which features spectacular views of the city.

Please note that, because of security requirements, entrance to the Embassy will require presentation of a valid U.S. passport upon arrival. Non-U.S. citizen immediate family members may present a national passport upon arrival to gain access. Please refrain from bringing large bags or purses, as this will slow the screening process necessary to access the Garden.
